“Kura Chan” is the latest entry in Daido Moriyama’s series of hand-bound photobooks with silk-screen printed covers on canvas, following previous entries “Boku”, “Lips! Lips! Lips!”, “Tights in Shimotakaido”, “Pantomime”, and “Plastic Love”.
“Kura Chan” features re-edited photographs originally published in Provoke Volume 2 and 3 as well as many previously unpublished images. The central theme of the book is Moriyama’s encounter with a woman in a hotel room.
