In continuation of Moriyama’s Record series, _Record No. 28 _compiles a collection of photographs taken within various locations in Taiwan in 2014. Traveling for more than 400km, between the cities Tainan, Keelung, Chiayi, Taipei and Taichung, Moriyama photographed his journey for the Taiwanese edition of Rojo Sunappu no Susume (Tips for Street Snaps). The images compiled within this publication however contain images taken for the Taiwanese edition which did not make it into the book, resulting in to a separate body of work from the initial series into a record and documentation of the various people, landscapes and areas of which Moriyama visited along his journey. Included within is an afterword by Moriyama available in both Japanese and English text. In it, Moriyama contemplates the origins of the photograph in his remembering his encounter with Joseph Nicéphore Niépce’s “View from the Window at Le Gras” at the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, Texas.
