As part of a series of Daido Moriyama books with silkscreen-printed canvas covers, Tokyo-based gallery and publisher Akio Nagasawa brings back Moriyama’s “Platform” series.
Originally shot on “one day in 1977,” Moriyama took photographs of the people waiting on the opposing platform at Shinjuku station and Yokohama station. In Moriyama’s skillful black-and-white photographs, the platforms become stages and the waiting passengers actors in an improvised play of choreographed poses and facial expressions.
Each of the 350 copies is numbered and signed by the photographer.
