It still happens today that I fondly recall the time I spent with Mr.Shimizu during the photo shootings. In such moments I see him and my-self, two young dudes in conversation,just as if that gap of fifty years wasn't there at all.

The images collected in this photobook capture a friendship that began in a coffee shop where both Daido Moriyama and Shimizu Isamu first met to discuss these photo shoots 50 years ago. The images captures the actor in perfomances both individually and with a comedy trio, entertaining audiences at clubs and cabarets. Moriyama's disctint style of shooting brilliantly captures the life of the actor in all of the senses which portray both the comedic and the real.
