This catalogue accompanies the exhibition “Araki.Tokyo” at the Pinakotheken der Moderne, Berlin (October 26 2017 - March 4 2018).
“Tokyo” is one of Araki’s very first photobook experiments and consists of 28 diptychs created by Nobuyoshi Araki between 1969 and 1973. In addition to an English and German translation of Provoke founder Koji Taki’s original essay, this catalogue also supplies extensive additional information on Araki’s photography in the form of texts by Inka Graeve Ingelmann and Yasufumi Nakamori (in English and German).
