The photobook “(Sekai)2“ is a collaboration between photographer Kotori Kawashima (of “Mirai-chan” fame) and actor Taiga Nakano (“Under the Open Sky”, “Sweet Poolside”). After their first collaboration series “Michi” more than four years ago, in “(Sekai)2” (meaning “world”) Kawashima explores Nakano’s photographic presence and wealth of emotions in more than 200 pages and in locations in Japan, Taiwan, France, Germany and Portugal. While the nature of their collaboration gives preference to playful, lighthearted images that examine Nakano’s unique sense of masculinity, more serious emotions are also given ample space to breath and unfold.
