“Catch the Moon / Fade Into You”is the latest photobook of Japanese photographer Kotori Kawashima, winner of the Kimura Ihei Prize and famous for the child portrait series “Mirai-chan” and the photobook “Morning Star”, in which he documented his many trips to Taiwan.
In “Catch the Moon / Fade Into You,” Kawashima focuses his camera on Japanese actress Machiko Ono as they travel together to Taiwan and Nara.

“When I see Machiko stand in front of me, I suddenly begin to feel a sadness, as if I am the only person left in the world. This happens whether I see her in the streets of Taiwan or in the mountains of Nara. There’s something strangely beautiful here.
