“Why Not?” is the first artbook by Spanish artist Javier Calleja. Published to commemorate the arrival of his exhibition “Mr. Günter, The Cat Show” in his birthplace of Malaga in Spain, “Why Not?” features more than 500 pages filled with Calleja’s eclectic, highly-recognizable artworks. With contagious humor, effective compositions and surprising juxtapositions, Calleja’s paintings imprint the artist’s unique vision on aspects of our everyday lives.

In addition to prints of Calleja’s works, photographs of sketches, work-in-progress paintings, views from Calleja’s studio and exhibitions, “Why Not?” also features a conversation between curator Sasha Bogojev and the artist as well as a list of captions of each included work.
