Japanese Architectural Models 2015
In his own unique architectural photography style, Takashi Homma photographed 40 architectural models and prototypes created by Japanese master architects of the 1960s to the early 2010s. Such models turn ideas into tangible objects and aide the architect in understanding and visualizing their projects. Even after the completion of the building, these models retain a certain magic and can offer deeper insight into the processes of creative architectural design. In his photographs, Homma adds his own personal touch to the models of masterpieces by Tadao Ando, Arata Isozaki, Sachio Otani, Kenzo Tange, Atelier Bow-Wow, Toyo Ito, Kisho Kurokawa (“Nakagin Capsule Tower”) and many more.
