XU Xiaoxiao
中国南東部の青田で生まれ、10代でオランダに移住。人生の半分を異文化の中で過ごしたことで、彼女の視野は大きく広がった。ドキュメンタリーと自主制作の微妙な境界線を行き来する彼女の写真には、インサイダーとアウトサイダーという二重の視点が反映されている。Xuは自由な解釈を可能にするストーリーを伝えることを目指し、想像力を掻き立て、見る者を何度も彼女のイメージに戻り、迷い込むように誘う。彼女の最近の出版物は好評を博している。Shooting the Tiger」はオランダのベストブックデザインに選ばれ、「Aeronautics in the Backyard」はデ・フォルクスラント紙とガーディアン紙のベスト写真集に選ばれた。2025年春には、7冊目の写真集『This Looks Better irl： Exploring Cosplay Cons」がエリスケイ・コネクションより発売予定。
