Published as part of the Neotokyozine project, a series of photobooks and zines, “Daydream” is the latest photobook by Japanese photographer Kenta Cobayashi.

Cobayashi, whose style of expression involves the use of digital manipulation and editing, focuses on human subjects in this series. Visual abstractions, accentuated patterns and alienating effects transform Cobayashi’s visions into a kind of waking daydream as the reappearing motif of the mask further questions the relationship between reality and illusion.
