“Contact High” is an independent photography zine published by Japanese stylist Tatsuya Shimada. Roughly 18 months after issue 2, the third issue of the magazine features provocative photography and visual art from Japanese artists such as Takashi Okura, Yusuke Yamatani, Hajime Kinoko & Go Itami, Yoshirotten and Momo Okabe, united by this issue’s theme “Inside” (and the implicit “eros” aspect of the zine). The well-edited, constant stream of images – which include innocuous portraits and nightly scenery as well as bondage and blood – provides a stimulus-heavy insight into a rarely seen side of Japan’s contemporary visual artist scene.
