Michio Yamauchi’s thorough and heartfelt photographic goodbye to his cat Banko.

“Banko came to live with me in the winter of 2005, and was by my side as a constant source of interest and comfort in my life until her death in 2013. I began sensing that her health was failing about a year before she died, and started taking photographs of her wth every opportunity.
Eventually she would only take water, and about a month later on a cold winter night, she wobbled over and sat beside my pillow for a while. It was her way of saying farewell. her physical presence is gone, but I have this feeling that her spirit is still here with me.”
