Building for a typhoon (A)

Rohan HUTCHINSON

Publisher: acb press

Includes a signed print (17.8 x 14 cm) / NUMBERED

A follow-up to his celebrated 2014 photobook debut “A Brief Stroll Whilst Inspecting Architecture,” Australian photographer Rohan Hutchinson’s new work “Building For A Typhoon” investigates the architectural identity of Tokyo, with a particular focus on the many cultural, economic and geographic contrasts embodied and created by architectural and material choices.

With Hutchinson’s photography having taken place before and after a typhoon shut down most of Tokyo’s daily activities in 2019, his images of contrasting and harmonizing patterns, edges, colors and materials are contextualized by the necessity of architectural structures to withstand strong weather variance.

Each of the 150 copies includes a collectible metallic print (signed & numbered).
