The North Eastern Estates
artists' book, 3 different cover styles, selected at random
Rohan Hutchinson’s “The North Eastern Estates” is an artist book that “studies how a geographic location alters the built environment” in photographs taken in Hokkaido between 2010 and 2012. The book is limited to an edition of 20, each with a unique cover, and presents its images on individual, unbound sheets.
“My research was to look at how buildings represent that of their developers and how this alters the aesthetics and longevity of permanent structures placed into the environment.” —from the artist’s statement
