ヴィヴィアン・サッセン
Viviane SASSEN
1972年アムステルダム生まれ、同地在住。ユトレヒト芸術大学（HKU）とアトリエ・アーネムでファッション・デザインと写真を学ぶ。
2012年にアムステルダムのハウ・マルセイユ写真美術館で開催された17年間のファッション作品の回顧展「In and Out of Fashion」を皮切りに、ランコントル・ダール、スコットランド国立肖像画美術館、サバンナ・カレッジ・オブ・アート・アンド・デザイン、Fotografie Forum Frankfurt、Fotomuseum Winterthurを巡回。
個展は、Fotografiska（2017年）、Foto Kunst Stadform（オーストリア）（2017年）、ハンブルクのDeichtorhallen（2017年）、シカゴ現代写真美術館（2017年）、Hordaland Kunstsenter（ベルゲン）（2016年）、Atelier Néerlandais（パリ）（2015年）、The Photographers' Gallery（ロンドン）（2015年）、ICA（ロンドン）（2015年）、Nederlands Fotomuseum（ロッテルダム）（2014年）で開催されている。2013年には第55回ヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレのメイン展示「The Encyclopedic Palace」に出品。ピューリッツァー芸術財団（2017年）、ライクスミュージアム（アムステルダム）（2017年）、フライブルク新美術館（ドイツ）（2016年）、ズヴォレのフンダティ美術館（2016年）、ニューヨーク近代美術館のニュー・フォトグラフィー（2011年）、No Fashion, Please！Photography between gender and lifestyle at the Vienna Kunsthalle (2011); Figure and Ground： コンタクト・フォトグラフィー・フェスティバルの一環としてトロントのカナダ現代美術館で開催された「Dynamic Landscape」（2011年）、「Six Yards： Guaranteed Dutch Design」（アーネム近代美術館、2012年）など。
サッセンは2007年にオランダの芸術賞であるローマ賞を受賞し、2011年にはニューヨークのInternational Center of PhotographyのInfinity Award for Applied/Fashion/Advertising Photographyを受賞した。2015年にはドイツ写真アカデミーのダヴィッド・オクタヴィウス・ヒル・メダルを受賞し、展覧会「Umbra」でドイツ取引所写真賞にノミネートされた。また、出版物でも数々の賞を受賞している。
