ロレンツォ・ヴィットゥーリ
Lorenzo VITTURI
1980年 イタリア、ヴェニス生まれ、ロンドン在住。
写真、彫刻、インスタレーションを手がける。映画のセット画家としての経験を生かし、特定の地理的な場所にインスパイアされた仮設セットや儚い彫刻を制作。ヴィットゥーリが注目するのは、都市の変容や文化の混交が最も顕著に見られる場所である。彼は、さまざまな世界が衝突している証拠となるようなオブジェや有機物、加工された素材を収集し、それを彫刻、絵画、コラージュ、写真の間を行き来する作品へと昇華させている。現地調査、インタビュー、地域コミュニティとのコラボレーションなどの手法を通して、彼の作品は、グローバル化した世界におけるモノと人の移動に焦点を当てながら、インフォーマルな経済と異なる文化の融合を探求している。最近の作品では、ヴィットゥーリ自身の家族の歴史と多文化的アイデンティティに焦点をあてている。ガラス、テキスタイル、ファウンド・オブジェクトを用いた恒久的な彫刻作品を制作し、出自や重層的なアイデンティティに関する問いを物質的なかたちにして、不均衡、矛盾、対立が共存する多面的なプロセスとしての文化の出会いを指摘している。
