鷲尾和彦
Kazuhiko WASHIO
1968年兵庫県生まれ。
早稲田大学で社会科学を学び、卒業後、独学で写真活動を始める。
長期的なプロジェクトを通して、人と場所の関係を撮り続けている。特に「cities」と「coastlines (oceans)」は、鷲尾が生涯をかけて取り組む重要なテーマである。グローバリゼーションの時代、都市は人と人をつなぎ、同時に人を孤立させ、境界を作る。
そのプロジェクトのひとつとして、東日本大震災（2011年）の被災状況を含め、20年にわたって日本の海岸線を撮影した写真集『To the Sea』は、ノーベル文学賞受賞者のジャン＝マリー・ギュスターヴ・ル・クレジオ氏の序文付きで2014年に写真集として出版された。このプロジェクトの作品は、日本、中国、韓国の文化大臣による「東アジア文化都市」のプログラムのひとつにも選ばれている。
最近では、ヨーロッパの都市に押し寄せる難民や移民のポートレートを収めた写真集『Station』を2020年に出版。このプロジェクトはイギリス、ドイツ、オーストリア、日本で展示された。
