Henry LEUTWYLER
1961年スイス生まれのLEUTWYLERは、独学で写真を学び、頑固なまでに写真というメディアを愛している。祖父も父も印刷工だった。祖父と父はともに印刷工だったが、ロイトワイラーは彼らの道を歩まず、旅をして写真を撮り、世界中の色彩と文化を吸収することに決めた。スイス有数の写真学校から不合格になった後、ローザンヌに自分の写真スタジオを開き、チーズ、チョコレート、時計を撮影したが、1年半で破産した。1985年、LEUTWYLERはパリに移り、写真家ジル・タピーのもとで修業を積み、エディトリアル・フォトグラファーとしての地位を急速に確立した。10年後、ロイトワイラーはニューヨークに移住。ミシェル・オバマ、ジュリア・ロバーツ、トム・ウルフ、イギー・ポップ、リアーナ、マーティン・スコセッシなどを撮影。
マンハッタンのダウンタウン在住。
