クリスチャン・パターソン
Christian PATTERSON
ウィスコンシン州フォンデュラック生まれ、ニューヨーク州ニューヨーク在住。彼の視覚的に重層的な作品は、小説的で主観的な過去の歴史的ドキュメンタリーと評され、アーカイブ、作家性、記憶、場所、時間といったテーマを扱うことが多い。写真は、ドローイング、ペインティング、オブジェ、ビデオ、サウンドを含む彼の多分野にわたる作品の中心である。
著書に『Sound Affects』（2008）、『Redheaded Peckerwood』（2011、Recontres d'Arles Author Book Award）、『Bottom of the Lake』（2015、Aperture-Paris Photo Book of the Year Shortlist）、『Gong Co. グッゲンハイム・フェロー（2013年）、グランプリ・イマージュ・ヴェヴェイ（2015年）受賞、ニューヨーク公共図書館ピクチャー・コレクション・アーティスト・フェロー（2022年）、ジェームズ・キャッスル・ハウス・レジデント（2023年）。彼の作品は、ナショナル・ギャラリー、ロサンゼルス郡立美術館（LACMA）、J.ポール・ゲッティ美術館、ミルウォーキー美術館、ネルソン・アトキンス美術館、オグデン南部美術館に収蔵されており、彼の書籍は多くの機関のアーティスト・ブック・コレクションに収蔵されている。また、講演、指導、教育活動も幅広く行っている。
