Teleportation
Hong kong-based photographer Lai Lon Hin’s self-published book “Teleportation”, 500 pages thick and split into 17 chapters, is an extensive catalogue of the artist’s signature mobile phone camera photography. Focusing on people and objects in his images, Lai often zooms in as much as possible using his camera phone, thereby excluding all unnecessary detail and clutter from his images. The resulting pixelation becomes an element of Lai’s unique style.
Lai Lon Hin has been selected for a number of exhibitions, including “Inside China” at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and “Hong Kong Photography Series 2: City Flâneur - Social Documentary Photography” at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.
“The image world he creates on a daily basis is realized one square at a time. It is a world whose contour defies definition, yet subjective and directing.”
