Photopaper 44|45: Kyrie
Photopaper is a monographic publication focussing on a single artist per issue, published by the same NPO that organizes the Fotobookfestival Kassel. “Photopaper 44|45” introduces works from Japanese photographer Mikiko Hara’s series “Kyrie”, taken between 2014 and 2018. Hara’s sensitive snapshot photography, which has earned her the 42nd Kimura Ihei Award in 2017, transforms daily life into a dream-like substance. Her photographs immediately set an atmosphere and invite a longer stay; her eye for telling situations that characterize individuals is remarkable.
