Published in 2013 by Osaka based publishing collective Vacuum Press, Jun Abe's 2001 contains a series of photographs taken in and around his native Osaka City. Here, once again viewers are invited to look into the world seen through Abe's eyes, city streets, walkways, to traditional festivals are captured within the frame of the urban setting.Abe presents a visual commentary of contemporary Japanese society capturing the urban environment and the individuals who fill his frame, his photographs subtly comment on our social behaviours and habits, whilst also reflecting familiar scenes which are recognizable to any city through his wonderfully candid and familiar photographs.
