The fifth issue of the zine series Medeia 2.0 features new work by American photographer Terri Weifenbach.

Beginning with Russian writer Leo Tolstoy’s aphorism that “One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between man and nature shall not be broken,” Weifenbach weaves a calm yet stimulating visual experience out of colorful, almost dreamlike photographs of leaves, ripe fruit, birds, lush foliage and other small wonders of nature. Inspired by painting, particularly Impressionists such as Monet, Weifenbach pursues the beauty of nature with an instinctive sense of composition and color, occasionally focusing on individual motifs (birds, fruit, rain) as if to examine their symbolic meaning.
