Hypermarché-Novembre
The third entry in The Gould Collection’s ongoing series Hypermarche, which partners literature & poetry with photography, features the Japanese photographer Motoyuki Daifu and poetry by French writer Michel Houellebecq.
Daifu’s photographs are selected from the three series Project Family, Still Life and Untitled (Surround), chosen for their ability to depict a vision of a “real Japan” unclouded by cliches and preconceptions. Houellebecq’s poetry – woven in-between the photographs on several pages – contribute views on loneliness, love, tragedy and other great emotions, captured in mundane locations and situations. The poems are included in their original French and in English and Japanese translation.
