“East 10th Street” introduces new nude photographs by Saul Leiter into the collective art memory.

It was only in 2018 that Saul Leiter’s nude photography became easily accessible to the public with the photobook “In My Room”. With “East 10th Street”, Belgian publisher Fifty One Publication explores the brilliance of Leiter’s nudes in more depth, featuring previously unpublished photographs of friends, lovers and loves. Leiter’s nudes “succeeded in balancing between eroticism and something close to the distinct creamy atmosphere that characterizes his color work”, writes curator Roger Szmulewicz in his introduction. A must-have book for anyone interested in Leiter’s oeuvre.
