リタ・アッカーマン
Rita ACKERMANN
ハンガリーに生まれ、ニューヨークを拠点に活動するリタ・アッカーマン。創造と破壊の対立衝動が、彼女の絵画実践の真価であり、具象から抽象へとシフトしながら展開している。
画面を構成するのは、人体のフォルムが消えると同時に現れるような空間。「チョークボード・ペインティング」と題されたシリーズでは、黒板塗料が下塗りされた大きなキャンバスに、水溶きの白墨や深緑の顔料が使われている。抽象表現主義風のこれら作品では、教室の黒板を思わせる画面に、いかにも自然な描写のマークや消し跡が広がっている。しかし、それらは人物や風景が幾度も意図的に描き直されている。こうした手の動きから浮かび上がるのは、消されたドローイングの亡霊のごとき輪郭である。完成作は、これら行為の記録ともなっている。
近年の個展には、「ママ ʻ20」(2020年、ハウザー&ワース・チューリヒ)、「ママ ʻ19」(2020年、ハウザー&ワース・ニューヨーク)、「ブラザー・アンド・シスター」(2019年、ハウザー&ワース・チューリヒ) 、「モニュメントとしての運動」(2018年、ミラノ・トリエンナーレ)、「青に変化する空気」(2017年、ハウザー&ワース・サマーセット、イギリス)、「消滅の美学」(2016年、マルメ・クンストハレ美術館、スウェーデン) などがある。
