Birdhead
Birdhead（バードヘッド／鳥頭）は、2004年に結成されたソン・タオ（宋涛／1979年生）とジ・ウェイユィ(季炜煜／1980年生）の2人によるアートユニット。共に上海美術工芸学校卒、上海を拠点に活動。
中国の経済と社会が世界に開かれつつあった時期に、彼らの故郷である上海の都市変容を記録したクロニクルで一躍注目を集めました。20年に及ぶ活動を通じ、自分たちを取り巻く世界に声を上げ、称賛し、また批評するために写真の技術や物語性の限界に挑戦し続けています。
写真画像を使ったマトリックス、コラージュ、特殊なマウント技法、インスタレーション、フォトブックなど多様なメディアを駆使した作品を展開。様々な展示空間や環境の中で、多義的で進化し続ける独自の「Birdhead World」を実現させている。近年では「Feeling the Stones」展（ディリーヤ・ビエンナーレ、サウジアラビア、2021年）や「海浪」展（上海当代芸術博物館、上海、2020年）など、多くの展覧会に出展。その作品はテート・モダン、ニューヨーク近代美術館、上海当代芸術博物館等に収蔵されている。
