Published in 2015, Yusuke Yamatani’s Rama Lama Ding Dong brings together images captured during his honeymoon with his wife Emi. Known for his photographs which capture communities and indivial who live against that of the mainstream, Yamatani’s Rama Lama Ding Dong is the photographer’s fifth publication following his well received Tsugi no yoru e; which chronicled the subcultural scene of Osaka city. Captured within are a series of images, photographed in black and white, which record memories and experiences of the personal. Opening up with a short introduction “This is my honeymoon in the summer of 2014” the photobook is a visual portrayal of a journey which saw the newlywed couple venture across Japan beginning in Hokkaido and ending in Kyushu for one month. This publication is a beautifully bound hardcover photobook, a record of both Yamatani’s past and future memories which wonderfully reflect the photographer's recurring theme of freedom.
