陳蕭伊
CHEN Xiao-Yi
1992年、中国四川省生まれ。2014年にロンドン・カレッジ・オブ・コミュニケーションで写真修士号を取得し、現在は成都を拠点に活動している。写真をベースにしながらも特定のメディアにとらわれず、イメージを生み出すことで人間の微妙な知覚に焦点を当てた作品を制作している。そして、既成の論理、知覚、想像力に絶えず挑戦し、存在そのものを探求している。Xiaoyi Chenは国際的に展覧会を開催しており、2015年には中国で最も権威のある写真賞であるThree Shadows Photography Awardを受賞、2017年にはForbes誌によるAsia's 30 Artist under 30に選出された。
近年進行しているプロジェクトでは、歴史上の資源地としての中国西部に焦点を当て、恒度山地域の鉱山や鉱山遺跡をカットとして取り上げ、それらの失われた時間、自然や土地の神秘を継続的にサルベージしている。過去の鉱業から現在の山の生息地まで、山と土地の時間的・空間的な積み重ねの関係に取り組み、より広い物語を通して中国西部の山々をスキャンしようと試みている。
