Wires Crossed
Skateboard legend Ed Templeton traces a visual memoir through the skateboarding subculture of the 90s and early 2000s. In photographs, drawings, texts and maps and collages and (of course) x-ray images, “Wires Crossed” follows Templeton’s life as a professional skateboarder at a time when skateboarding exploded in popularity. With friends and fellow skateboarders – among them Elissa Steamer, Kareem Campbell and Erik Ellington – Templeton toured the United States and the world in search of skate spots, video shoots and new experiences. Thanks to Templeton’s raw, personal account and his talent as an image-maker, “Wires Crossed” forms a fascinating chronicle and behind-the-scenes look at the skateboarding subculture.
