Born and raised in Tokyo, _Water Tower _is the Sayo Nagase's second photobook in and amongst her body of published works. Attracted to the shape and form of a water tower which she happened across one day in Tokyo, Nagase began photographing the structure and its relationship with its surrounding environment. The resulting series is a subtle exploration of form and structure, which sees Nagase intertwine both presence and absence within the body of work. Curves and shapes are heightened by pink lines where figures of women disappear and re-appear throughout the pages, reflecting an experience and exploration that is both ephemeral and temporary.
