Surficial Survey
Taiji Matsue’s photographic works both record and present a view of the earth’s surfaces which portray the landscape and its affinity to both the natural and man-made. Published in parallel with Taiji Matsue’s exhibition held at the Izu Photo Museum in 2012, Surficial Survey includes Matsue’s photographic series JP-22 and image stills from his video works first exhibited at the show.
Included within the publication is an interview of Taiji Matsue and essay by art critic Minoru Shimizu.
