“Narrative of Osamu Yokonami” is published as the first issue of PPF Magazine (“Past Present Future”), which – true to its name – concerns itself with past and present to think about the future.

In volume 1, the magazine focuses on the work of Osamu Yokonami, a Japanese photographer whose playful, sensual style has earned him recognition in multiple genres, from fashion to catalogues, commercials and art. But Yokonami is also highly regarded for his relationships with his assistants and for helping his students launch careers of their own.
Using many photographs from various series from his long career, the book traces the “narrative” in Yokonami’s works, with former assistants and students offering background information about Yokonami and their unique connection with him. The book also includes Yokonami’s answers – in the form of photographs – to his students’ and assistants’ statements.
