The first issue of the Japan-based zine series Medeia presents a collection of works by Tunisian photographer Zied Ben Romdhane.
Titled “The Escape,” Romdhane’s series of black and white images is an investigation into the mentality of the Tunisian youth in the years after the Tunisian revolution as part of the Arab Spring. Following this period of significant change, as well as economic and social turmoil, the Tunisian identity is being newly shaped against the background of an uncertain future and a troubling recent past.
