Mahjong 3, with “instant” as the main theme, is dedicated to 311 Earthquake in Japan, in which 5 photographers collects their experiences, observations and reflections after a mix of profound impact and sorrow. Dustin Shum has chosen some photos taken when traveling in Japan which illustrate his calm and unruffled manner in social observations; Vincent Yu has recorded numerous first-person narratives and witnesses with iPhone on sites hit by earthquake and tsunami; Paul Yeung as a traveler has revealed a sense of grief and peculiarity from some trivial matters in life; while Kantai Wong with his fate somehow connected with Japan intends to alleviate our sorrow through gazing at the sea; and Karl Chiu aspires to recall Japanese myths from our minds using his poetic black-and-white images.
