Published in commemoration of the exhibition “20 Year Anniversary TOP Collection: Tokyo Tokyo and TOKYO” (Nov. 22, 2016 - Jan. 29, 2017) at Tokyo Photographic Art Museum.
The exhibition and the photobook aim to highlight Japanese artist active between the post-war period and the present day. United by the common theme “Tokyo”, each artist’s individual approach towards and experience of the Japanese capital gives rise to a variety of viewpoints. Can there ever be a final shape, a definite image that captures such a complex megacity? Featuring Nobuyoshi Araki, Daido Moriyama, Seiji Kurata, Issei Suda, Kitajima Keizo, Michio Yamauchi and many more.
