Mole
It was established in 1989 as an independent gallery specializing in photography and not operated by a camera or film company. Initially named FROG (Film ROund Gallery), it has been under this name since 1991. It was housed in a building in Yotsuya 3-chome that used to be a mahjong parlor.
The gallery introduced many photographers of the unsung class, such as Shigeo Ushiutomo and Masaaki Kasuga.
In addition to its activities as a gallery, the gallery also sold and published photography books, and published the first collection of Osamu Kanemura's photographs. The photo book sales division was later taken over by Sokyu-sa, which was attached to PLACE M.
