MOLE UNIT No.7 It's a New Day
Active between 1984-2001, the independently run photography gallery Mole based in Shinjuku published features from photographers such as Yasuo Yamamoto, Yamauchi Michio and Masato Seto. Born in 1970 in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture, Erika Yoshino began her photographic career in 1989 and graduated from Tokyo College of Photography in 1994. Well known for her colour photographs since the publication ofJust Like On The Radio, published in 2011 by Osiris,Mole Unit No.'7It's a New Day,features a selection of early works by Yoshino taken in black and white. Published in 1995 the photographs within this publication provides viewers the opportunity to look back at Yoshino's early photographic style.Influenced by the works of Kiyoshi Suzuki during her time as a student, Yoshino produced a number of black and white photographs focusing in the field of street photography, reflected in Mole Unit's seventh publication It's a New Day.
