The book “Photo Boy 1979-1988” follows the publication “Photo Boy 1973-1979” (2009, Sokyusha) and features a selection of photographs taken during the 1980s while photographer Akiyoshi Taniguchi was traveling in the United States. Most of the photos were taken in New York and Los Angeles, where Taniguchi—born into a temple priest family—resided as a Buddhist missionary, with occasional photographs taken during visits back to Japan.
