Mimetic Maps
Graphic designer Tomoyuki Koseko’s series of “Mimetic Maps” is an experimental combination of art and graphic design. Mixing and overlaying topographical maps with images of meat, Koseko highlights surprising graphical similarities and offers a fresh perspective on the world map.
For example, in Mimetic Maps Vol 1 he overlays the map of Finland with a posterized image of a sirloin stake to find features of the steak coinciding with actually existing lakes in Finland.
