Landscape Probe is Tamami Terasaki’s second photobook, following her debut Rheological Landscapes. It depicts houses and their surroundings in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area.
“I photograph out of yearning and admiration for a world that exists separate of human emotions, driven by a desire to look at the world from a perspective outside that of our limited human view.
I wander towards places where the landscapes and I start to resonate. I stop and release the shutter. But the landscapes remain cold towards me, and our separation only grows the more I shoot. But even so, my inner drive to see things I have not yet seen pushes me out into the world again, camera in hand, to travel once more into the gap between me and the things I see.”
