Tsugaru
Such like photographers Daido Moriyama and Ichiro Kojima, and writer Osamu Dazai, Tsugaru in the Aomori prefecture of Japan has continously inspired and drawn artists to its region. Here Masako Tomiya expores Tsugaru, her birthplace, delving into aspects of "region", taking images which have portray a natural sensitivity towards nature and the lapse of time.
"As I held the camera with both hands, the 'unique calmness' which exists in the Tsugaru region was gentlyl pushing my back. Eleven years have passed since I started taking pictures for this series."
