SPIDER'S STRATEGY
Published by Osiris in 2001, Osamu Kanemura's Spider's Strategy reflects one of the most celebrated publications made by the Tokyo based photographer. Born in the Tokyo suburb of Koenji, Kanemura's photographs reflect his city's scape; filled and replete with a neverending network of wires, objects and infrustructure. Designed by Yukimasa Okumura and including an essay by Japanese architecht Arata Isozaki; this rare photobook presents a portrayal of city caught within a web of roads, railways, and connective structures. Photographed in black and white, the graphically dense imagery within the 102 pages results in a plexus of structure and form reflected at all angles, illustrating the fabric of a city and its material.
