Osaka Diary
Peter Bialobrzeski returns with a new entry to his “Diary” series, turning his gaze on Osaka, the second-largest city of Japan and one of the largest metropolitan areas of the world. In dense images, Bialobrzeski documents the city’s idiosyncratic scenes on boulevards and back-alleys, revealing the social and visual diversity of the constantly developing megacity.
“Osaka Diary” will be the tenth installment in Bialobrzeski’s “Diary” series, following photobooks set in Athens, Cairo, Wolfsburg, Budapest, Taiwan, Wuhan, and other cities. The project is a collaboration between Bialobrzeski and publisher Velvet Cell. Two “Diary” books are released each year, each focusing on a single city somewhere in the world. Each book feature the same size, dimensions, and page count.
Peter Bialobrzeski is a world-renowned photographer and the recipient of several awards including the prestigious “World Press Photo Award” in 2003 and 2010. He is also the author of over ten photobooks, including “Neon Tigers”, “Heimat”, “Lost in Transition” and “Paradise Now”.
