Volume 9 of the Korea-based photography magazine Iann - published ten years after the magazine’s launch - focuses on the theme ‘Asian Bookmakers Society’. In a series of ‘chain interviews’ (interviews conducted so that one interviewee passes questions on to the next) with figures such as Japanese book designer Yoshihisa Tanaka, Singapore Photo Festival organizer Gwen Lee and Korean graphic designer Park Yeounjoo, the magazine investigates the state of current art publishing in Asia as well as ideas and factors that play a role in its development.
Interviews with Japan-based Korean photographer Seung-woo Yang and a feature about Japanese photographer Go Itami complete the issue.
