bAGATELLe
In his debut photobook "bAGATELLe”, the Japanese photographer RYö KöBö weaves seemingly inconsequential photographs and impressions into a dense journey into the nature of the medium and the very act of seeing. In monochrome and sepia tones, KöBö mostly focuses on single, clearly defined subjects and motifs—faces, flowers, gestures, appearances—and alludes to the history of photography and its close ties to his adopted home of Paris, France. The images are interspersed with one-page short stories by the Japanese writer Akiko Inaba (all texts included in Japanese & French translation).
