ARCA
Emphasizing forms through shadows.
Takashi Suzuki is an artist who explores what it means to look at a photograph through the medium of photography itself. In ARCA, he has created large prints of shadows that he photographed with a large-format camera. By stripping the images of all context—no line, size reference, or any other defining information can be perceived—Suzuki has transformed the shadows into an entirely new type of construct that takes on the appearance of a hazy memory.
