Ryuichi ISHIKAWA
石川竜一
Born in Okinawa Prefecture. He began boxing in junior high school and placed third in the 2002 Kochi National Athletic Meet.
In 2006, he graduated from Okinawa International University, College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Sociocultural Studies, where he first encountered photography. 2008, he studied under avant-garde dancer Shoryu Shiba, and in 2010, under photographer Satoshi Yuzaki. 2011, he participated in the Shomei Tomatsu Digital Photography Workshop as a third-year student and participated in the workshop's final photo exhibition.
In 2012, he received an honorable mention at the 35th Canon New Cosmos of Photography for "okinawan portraits," and in 2013, he performed a solo contemporary dance performance at the Shoryu Shiba Solo Performance.
In 2014, he received the 40th Ihei Kimura Award for his work "A Grand Polyphony”.

2006 - Begins photography. Graduates from Okinawa International University.
2008 - Studies avant-garde dance with Seiryu Shiba.
2010 - Studies photography with Tetsushi Yuzaki.
2011 - Takes part in 3rd Shomei Tomatsu Digital Photography Workshop.
