A Japanese publishing company, formerly known as 新聲社, founded in July 1896. The company published books by naturalists such as Tayama Hanabukuro, and in 1914 launched the Shincho Bunko. The company also published many other monographs and complete works. As for weekly magazines, “Shukan Shincho,” launched in 1956, became the first successful publisher-affiliated weekly in Japan.
